Windows 98/98SE VPN Connection Setup

1. Double-click on My Computer.
   
2. Double-click on Dial-Up Networking.
   
3. Double-click on Make New Connection.
   
4. In the Name box type Alphalink Wireless, then select Microsoft VPN Adapter from the list of devices. Click Next.
   
5. Enter the following host name: 10.0.1.1. Click Next.
   
6. Click on the Finish button.
   
7. Now, click on the Alphalink Wireless with the Right mouse button and select Properties.
   
8. Under the General tab, you should have the following settings: VPN Server: 10.0.1.1 and Connect using: Microsoft VPN Adapter.
   
9. Click on the Server Types tab. There should only be ticks next to Require encrypted password and TCP/IP.
   
10. Click on TCP/IP Settings. There should be dots next to Server assigned IP address and Server assigned name server addresses. Make sure both Use IP Header compression and Use default gateway on remote network are ticked. Click Ok.
    
11. Click OK again. The connection is now set up and you are ready to connect.
    
12. Double-click on Alphalink Wireless. In the Username box, enter your login name (the first part of your Alphalink email address). Your password is the same as that of your Alphalink account. Click Connect.
    
13. You should now be connected.
