Windows 98/98SE LAN Connection Setup

  1. Double-click on My Computer

  2. Double-click on Control Panel

  3. Double-click on Network

  4. From the list select the TCP/IP that is associated with you network card (NIC) and click Properties.

  5. Click on the IP address tab.
    Enter your IP address (in the form of 10.0.X.X)
    Enter your Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

  6. Click on the Gateway tab.
    If your Gateway is not listed under Installed Gateways, enter the address (in the form of 10.0.X.1) and click Add.

  7. Click the DNS tab. Place a dot next to Disable DNS.

  8. Click on the WINS tab. Place a dot next to Disable WINS Resolution Click OK.

  9. Click OK again and restart the computer when prompted.
